Today’s world is evolving faster than ever. The world’s population is on pace to reach 9 billion people by 2050. Almost 7 billion will live in cities with a rising demand for improved infrastructures; reliable, clean and affordable energy. At the same time, about 1.3 billion people are still without electricity, 84% of them are in rural areas. Climate-related issues, like pollution and extreme weather conditions are everyday more present.
We see renewable technology as a potentially significant new source of jobs, innovation, rural growth and access to energy. In the energy industry, the landscape of innovation is expanding and changing every day. In fact smart technology is now reaching the renewable energy sector increasing the ability to gather, analyze, and distribute data that we can turn into useful information and knowledge. Knowledge that can be applied for providing better energy solutions. This is our responsibility.
Whitewall’s success is tied directly to our culture of innovation. Since I became Whitewall’s CEO in early 2015, we have focused our strategy to create value while pursuing sustainable innovation that benefits the people and the environment. We believe it will play a key role in the future of our business.
At Whitewall, everything we do begins with the people and ends with the people. We are working hard to offer our own products and services in a manner that is more comprehensive, intuitive and visually elegant. Our aim is to design solutions that enable, connect and empower people to make better energy decisions.
As a result, we’ve chosen to focus our leadership on three areas of fundamental importance to our business: IoT renewable energy devices, Energy cloud services and Smart Grids. It implies that Research and Development will now be, more than ever before, a key activity into Whitewall’s core function. This signals the enterprise-wide role of sustainable innovation that will drive Whitewall’s future growth.
In order to do so, Whitewall is being restructured. In 2014, we transitioned our standard products to Rekoser brand so they can take advantage of it’s distribution channel and focus on it’s commercialization. Rekoser Sustainable Technology’s division will now consist of three areas: Rekoser Batteries will focus on solutions for energy storage; Rekoser Solar will now comercialice products for photovoltaic installations such as solar panels, inverters, controllers, originally under Whitewall branding and finally Rekoser Power will deliver our brand new UPS systems.
Together we have crossed numerous milestone since the early days when Whitewall presented its the first product. On behalf of my team, I thank you all for that. We could not have made progress toward commercialization without your commitment.
We might not have all the answers and know-how, but we believe that by working closely with our industry partners, non-governmental organizations, universities, government agencies and others we will be able to face the great challenges ahead of us.
We also continue to support Global Compact principles in the areas of human rights, working conditions, the environment and anti-corruption.
We aspire to engage with an emerging global culture, defined not by age or geography, but by people determined to change the society and how business is done.
I hope you share our excitement about the opportunity we have to build together a sustainable economy on a smarter and healthy planet.
